Travel Team Evaluations

The Pensacola Junior Ice Flyer evaluations are held to determine if travel or select tournament teams are possible for the 10U, 12U, 14U, and 16U divisions for each season. Evaluations are held in the Spring, typically in March. If we have enough skaters, skill levels, and players who commit to the NFHL in the Spring, we can pursue a travel team in each division.

Who may register: Players who are currently registered with USA Hockey. NFHL player accounts must be in good standing at the time of evaluations. If you have any questions about your account, please send an email to treasurer@jriceflyers.com

Evaluation Fees: Evaluation fees are due at the time of registration prior to evaluation dates. Players will not be able to evaluate without payment and must be in good standing on their account.

Evaluations are held at the Pensacola Bay Center. Each division typically will have two 1 hour sessions for evaluations held over 2 nights. Attendance at both sessions is mandatory to complete the evaluation process.

Dates and Times for each division will be posted prior to evaluation week and go by birth year as evaluations are for next season.

2025-26 Tryout Info

The Pensacola Jr Ice Flyers are hosting tryouts to determine if travel teams are possible for the 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U divisions for the 2025-2026 season. If we have enough skaters, skill level, and players who commit with the NFHL, we can pursue travel teams in each division. Our 2025-26 12U age group has been identified as having the potential for two 12U teams pending tryout attendance.

For the 2025-2026 season, travel fees are estimated at $1750. Fees for the travel budget ($1000) can include off-season summer practice ice, team specific items, SYTHL fees and dues, and possible non-SYTHL tournaments. The remaining $750 is for house fees.

Evaluation Fees: Evaluation fees are $50 and are due at the time of registration and must be paid prior to evaluation dates. Evaluation fees are non-refundable.

Evaluations will be held at the Pensacola Bay Center. Each division has been allotted 1hr 15m to 1hr 45m for evaluations depending on the needs of that specific age group and the extremely limited ice time we have remaining. Dates and Times for each division are below - please go by birth year as evaluations are for next season.

Please note:

  • If your child is offered a spot on a travel team, you will receive a registration link. $300 will be due within 2 weeks of the head coach offering your child a spot. This jumpstarts the team fund for expenses such as summer ice, elective tournaments, etc. If there are excess travel team funds at the end of the season, it will be issued back to the team members in the form of a credit or check (upon request). 


  • House fees are intended to remain the same for next season as long as ice rates do not increase.
